Pick up where you left off

Welcome to Beehive Salford - dedicated to University of Salford nursing, nursing associate, and midwifery students who have taken a pause in their studies.

Get Started

An interruption of study

This is a formal break from your programme for a specific period of time with the intention to resume study at a future date as agreed with the University. For apprenticeship students, an interruption is also called a break in learning.

How we will keep in touch

We respect the need for time and space during the pause in your studies (otherwise known as an interruption). We will check in with you by email at the half-way point and six weeks before your expected return.

You aren’t alone

Useful information, frequently asked questions, and testimonials from other students to help you - both during your interruption and on your return.

How you can keep in touch with us

You can create your own private Beehive Salford account at anytime. While this is not an instant messaging service, it enables a member of staff to upload attachments and provide tailored information you ask for.

Access to University of Salford services

You continue to have access to your student email account/Office 365 and ASKUs services. You can use University buildings too, including the Library.

Preparing to return

We'll email you a reminder of the modules you are returning to and named academic staff to help you settle back in. You will get all the information you need to re-register and complete mandatory onboarding requirements to get set for placement and study.

Preparing return

Complete the University of Salford Skills Assessment

The ‘Skills Assessment’ should be completed at key transition points during your programme - returning from an interruption is one of them. It only takes 10 minutes and a personalised action plan will be sent to your UoS email: www.salford.ac.uk/skills
